YACHTING
The Safe Yachting Regulations and even more the European directive on the design, building and sale of yachts have brought in a new approach to yachting. The focus of all yachting regulations has shifted from yachts as such (and on the qualification of yachts as static units) to the actual navigation they cover and therefore to their users.

So, the yachtsman turns from being just an executor of state regulations into the proactive bearer of independent decision-making powers that enable him to apply laws with plenty of technical leeway. For instance, the new shipping limits, which are no longer based on the distance from the shore but on sea weather factors, make him responsible for choosing the type of navigation and the safety equipment.

STIMA, the Project for the dissemination of the culture of safe shipping, is also available to provide the yachting domain with useful tools for safe and mindful shipping.
